It's Eternal, but 3 Points Only!

Cobra link: https://tournaments.nullsignal.games/tournaments/4347
Self-registration will be live on Sunday!

We love Eternal, but, with so many powerful cards on offer, it can be hard to find slots for some old beloved staples. Limiting deckbuilding to only use 3 rather than 7 points from the Eternal Points List will hopefully open up deckbuilding and allow some less commonly-played cards to sneak back in. It may also lower the power level of the format just a smidge so that early mistakes are not quite as harshly punished, making it more welcoming for newer players.

3 points still allows you to take a full playset of one of the most powerful cards ever printed or a combination of 1- or 2-point cards. This means you still get to play with some of the most powerful cards ever printed, which is one of the big draws of the format!

Format

This tournament will use the Eternal Points List 25.07, but with the following changes:

  1. You may only pick cards up to a total value of 3 points (instead of 7) from each of the Corp and Runner lists. This means Rumor Mill is functionally banned. You may include up to a full playset of each pointed card you select.
  2. Jackson Howard goes from 2 to 1 point.
  3. Spin Doctor goes from 1 to 0 points.
Cards listed as "Banned" are banned for this event as well. We recommend you use the jinteki.net deckbuilder, setting the deck type to "Eternal", to build 3-point Eternal decks.

The Spin Doctor and Jackson Howard point changes were suggested by Eternal Format Curation lead wowarlok in order to ensure that Corps always have access to a baseline effect. Please note that this change is not reflected in the Jinteki.net deckbuilder, so you will have to build your Corp decks to 4 points (or 5 if you are including both cards). Please note that those changes apply only for 3-point Eternal.

Event Structure

This event will be run "league-style". Each week (paired on Mondays starting on December 1) you will play a Double-Sided Swiss round against your opponent, at a time that you will arrange together via the NSG Events Discord. We will run it out of one of the Asynchronous channels, if you're not sure which one we're in ask in #omm-general.
You will be able to drop in/drop out freely between rounds. Please let me know if you intend to drop out (or join) before I pair the next round each Monday.
We will aim for 5 rounds. However, based on people's availability over Christmas and New Year, we may decide to take 2 weeks to do round 4, in which case it'll be just 4 rounds.
If there are enough participants to justify it, and people want to, we'll run a top-4 cut in early January, at a date that'll suit all participants and won't clash with Showdown or CBI.

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR DECKS BETWEEN ROUNDS! You don't have to stick with the same decklist throughout the tournament.

Anyone planning on livestreaming their 3PE decks, please let me know and I'll share the link and time!
