Nationals have returned to Melbourne with another two-day event, celebrating everything that makes Netrunner great

Event Details

Saturday:

  • The Main Event: Single-Sided Swiss in the Standard format for a number of rounds similar to NSG Organised Play Policy (OPP) recommendations. This is a Competitive-tier event and players are expected to bring decklists, have a basic grasp of game rules, have cards in opaque sleeves, and follow any additional rules outlined in the OPP.

Sunday:

  • Main Event Elimination Rounds: The top performing players from Day 1 will continue their battle for the trophy in a double elimination bracket.
  • Startup Mini Tourney: Players who prefer Startup but still want to be a part of the action can sign up for a smaller scale tournament accomodating anyone who is interested.
  • Draft Cube: We have a stimhack cube available for drafting. 8 players (chosen on a first-registered basis on Sunday) will have the chance to participate.
  • Chimera Decks: A number of randomized chimera decks have been created for side-battles. Find yourself an opponent and pick up a random singleton deck each and see how you fare!

Both Days (When Available)

  • Boss Battles: A few of our Melbourne TOs have taken it upon themselves to create decks to offer a challenge to anyone brave enough for the task. Be aware though, these decks are not Standard decks. If you go in expecting a fair game, you're in for a big surprise.

National Championships are limited to one per country and are run by a local organizer. National Championship Kits are purchased via an application process. The 2024 kit contains:

(As Sanctioned events, prize structures for National Championships are strict. TOs found in violation of the prize structure may be banned from purchasing future kits.)

Additional prizes and information

Melbourne has a thriving community with a number of active organisers, which has lead to quite the surplus of prizes sitting in our coffers.

I'm happy to announce that, in addition to our regular Nationals kit prizing, we will be opening the vaults. Participants can expect prizes galore for both the main event and any side events, including previous NSG promos and custom alts as well as playmats and other non-cardboard prizing!
