In 2020, Melbourne's Netrunner scene went into hibernation. As a result there are a few event kits sitting in Archives. In 2022, we are opening them up!

This is Melbourne's second Store Championship of the year, and another opportunity to secure a Circuit Breaker invitation.

What is a Store Championship?

Store Championships provide an exciting opportunity for local communities to come together in friendly competition. They are casual events, but offer more prize support than usual. Plus, an invite to the 2022 Circuit Breaker Invitational will go to the winner (or highest-placed player who has not yet received an invite yet).

Format

The event will be run in Standard Format. A list of all cards in the format is here. If you are a newcomer from Startup events, be sure not to include the following cards in Standard decks:

  • Cayambe Grid
  • Engram Flush
  • Gold Farmer
  • Project Vacheron

This event will have 6 rounds of single-sided Swiss, followed by a top-4 elimination bracket to decide the winner. This means that you will meet a new opponent after every game.

Players may 'drop' or withdraw from the event at any time.

Timing

  • 9:30 Registration
  • 10:00 Rounds 1 to 4
  • 13:00 Lunch break (1 hour)
  • 14:00 Rounds 5 to 6
  • 15:30 Top 4 elimination bracket
  • 17:00 Event close.

Players may 'drop' or withdraw from the event at any time.

Entry and Prizes

$10 entry covers the cost of the event kit. The prize pool will expand with the number of participants. Prizes include:

  • Winner: Invitation to 2022 Circuit Breaker tournament
  • Top 4: 3× Consulting Visit (Nedliv Audiovisuell)
  • Top 8: 3× Falsified Credentials (Benjamin Giletti)
  • Top 16: 3× Peace in our Time (Olie Boldador)

Safety First

As always, we will follow Covid-safe settings. If COVID-19 developments prevent the event running in-store, I will run the event online via the Melbourne Netrunner Discord and Jinteki.net.
